We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join the Mental Health team at HMP Lindholme, a Category C male adult prison based in Doncaster, with operational capacity of around 900.

There will be development opportunities around training needs.

Hours

37.5 hours working a mix of 08:00-16:00 and 08:00-18:00 depending on allocated duties, one weekend in 4. 

Salary

This position is full part time, youll receive an annual salary up to £49,175 - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs.
  • You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • You will play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
  • Inspire excellence in your colleagues by pro-actively leading and motivating the team, recognising that our workforce is our most valuable asset.

Qualifications:

  • Registered nurse Mental Health
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Understanding of mental health policy including clinical governance and the quality and outcomes framework
  • Ability to assess and manage patient risk effectively
  • Some experience in trauma interventions would be desirable
